Jeannie has maintained an active professional practice as a painter, graphic designer, and art instructor. She has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in Boston, New York, Nantucket and Beverly. Her work is in private and corporate collections in the US and abroad. She holds a BA in studio art from Emmanuel College and an MFA from U Mass Dartmouth.

The artist works in traditional painting media as well as pigmented handmade paper. She learned the unique 'paper painting' technique at Rugg Road Handmade Papers as an apprentice in the 1980's. The hand cast paintings are created on a special vacuum table using beaten pulp fibers that are pigmented before layering the imagery in handmade paper shapes. No 'paint' is ever applied to the surface at any time during the process. The thick textural surfaces create both a tactile and visual experience of a particular place.

She describes her work as the 'visual documentation' of the nuances of light and shadow in nature and architecture at various times of the day. Travel to Nantucket, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean has been a source of inspiration for her paintings. Jeannie's paintings and prints are available for purchase.
