I am a composer, poet, and visual artist. My visual work comprises three categories: (1) photography based on animation stills, (2) digital painting, and (3) "visual music" animations grounded in my electronic music. I am interested in presenting the dynamics of movement and energy as I do in my music, and thus think of my images as "frozen music". I much care for photographic clarity, depth, and arresting shapes & colors. Due to the fluidity of digital tools, the boundaries between the disciplines I work in have become increasingly permeable. I welcome the dissolution of limits. In my work, I am guided by what the material on my screen demands of me when I move pen or mouse. It is important to me to share my craft, and to encourage peers to take up new tools for art making. I am member of the Rockport Art Association and Rocky Neck Art Colony.
