Born in New York City, Judith Monteferrante was a successful cardiologist for over 25 years, practicing in Westchester, NY, and specializing in heart imaging and female cardiac issues. Even while working in medicine, Monteferrante and her physician husband (Roger Salisbury, PSA) ran a successful gardening business, further nurturing her love of nature. In 2002, they established Cape Ann Artists, Inc. to further their joint artistic adventures.
Since her retirement, she has been focusing fully on her creative side through photography. She completed a master’s degree in digital photography (MPS) in 2009 at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and continues to explore her photographic vision. She now resides in Gloucester full-time.
Judith exhibits in juried shows in MA as well as nationally and is a member of many professional societies including the Copley Society of Art in Boston, for which she serves on the board. She is currently the Artistic Director of the Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester, MA. She has won numerous awards, has gallery representation in Gloucester, MA at State of the Art Gallery II at 18 Pleasant Street and in Northern Westchester, NY at the Flatiron Gallery and her work is in many private and corporate collections. Her main focus is on floral fine art portraits, mature female nudes and landscape or seascapes. She also travels frequently to Africa where she explores the wildlife.
