Artist’s Statement
I use the camera as a tool to create abstract art. One of the joys
of photography is in discovering striking compositions and relationships
among abandoned buildings, interiors, boatyards and other man
made or natural elements. My goal with this work is to
create images that convey the aesthetic experience I felt when
taking the photograph.
More recently I have been e creating fanciful environments with food and manmade
objects as landscape populated by miniature figures or insects.
After building the scene, I photograph it, using natural light
and miniature reflectors or flashlights for precise lighting effects.
