978-235-1738
Jamie makes quilts because she loves the fabrics with their complex designs and varying textures. She likes to see the effect when she puts fabrics side by side. They light each other up or lead the viewer to notice a speck of color that would otherwise be overlooked. Quilts can often be viewed from a variety of perspectives.
Jamie creates quilts that tempt the viewer to touch the fabrics and feel their texture. The quilts are meant to touch the viewer by evoking feelings of awe, serenity, beauty, delight and fun. Jamie creates both traditional pieced quilts, always with a new twist to them, and lively machine appliquéd quilts.
Jamie also designs and sews craft items including baby and doll quilts, table runners, lap quilts, and cloth books for babies.
She has taken classes at the Lowell Quilt Festival, where some of her quilts have been exhibited. She worked in Gloucester with Clara Wainwright on a large community quilt for the Faith Quilts Project.
