My inspiration comes from the ocean. It is where I cultivate new ideas, where I batten down for heavy storms, and where I remember who I am. Gloucester is my birthplace, a place where I am surrounded by ancestors, and where, seven years ago, I chose to make my home. Cape Ann is my anchor, my muse, where I choose to live mylife. When I make one of my boxes or a teapot or even a vase or a platter, I like to listen for a story from the clay. There are times that my pieces mirror my feelings, thoughts, or ideas, and other times that my pieces are an antidote of sorts for woeful experiences.
