Returning for its sixth season, Culture Splash brought Thursday nights to life from July 9 through August 27, transforming Gloucester’s historic waterfront into a vibrant celebration of art, music, creativity, and community. Residents and visitors explored the Rocky Neck Cultural District, discovered local artists, enjoyed live performances, and experienced the unique charm of this waterfront arts community.

A Summer of Art, Music, and Entertainment

This season’s lineup showcased the incredible diversity of Rocky Neck’s creative community. Highlights included Ocean Alliance’s drive-in movie night, the Ristuben Jazz Trio at Rocky Neck Cultural Center, Betrayal by Harold Pinter at Gloucester Stage Company, Coco Haze at Gallery RAG, Kevin Gallagher at Gloucester Writers Center, and a demonstration by Susan Lynn at North Shore Art Association.

Throughout the summer, visitors explored galleries and studios, watched artists at work, enjoyed poetry and live music, and gathered at waterfront restaurants. The free water shuttle, connecting Solomon’s Landing and St. Peter’s Square to Rocky Neck, added another memorable way to experience the festivities and Gloucester Harbor.

Celebrating the Rocky Neck Community

More than an evening of entertainment, Culture Splash celebrated the people and partnerships that make Rocky Neck such a vibrant arts destination. Presented in collaboration by the Rocky Neck Art Colony, Rocky Neck Cultural District, and Discover Gloucester, the summer celebration highlighted the neighborhood’s rich artistic heritage while welcoming new visitors to discover its galleries, cultural organizations, and local businesses.
