Built in 1877 as a neighborhood meeting house, this historic carpenter-gothic building has served Rocky Neck's creative community for nearly 150 years. Originally home to religious services, political meetings, and neighborhood events, the building later served as an art gallery before being purchased by The Church of Christ, Scientist in the 1950s.
In 2012, Rocky Neck Art Colony members Steve and Kathy Archer purchased the property and held it for RNAC while a capital campaign was launched. Through the generous support of local donors and grant funding, RNAC completed the purchase in 2014, paying off the mortgage completely. Today, the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck is home to rotating exhibitions featuring RNAC member artists, curated shows, live performances, poetry readings, workshops, and community gatherings—all things cultural.
Host Your Event
When not hosting exhibitions and cultural programming, the Cultural Center is available for private events. The historic 1877 carpenter-gothic hall provides a unique setting for receptions, meetings, and celebrations.
